As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the livelihood of many Filipinos, W Group pushed through with its second Community Pantry last September 18, 2021, serving a total of 548 employees. It aimed to help give employees among all W Group subsidiaries access to food in the spirit of “bayanihan” or spirit of civic unity and cooperation among Filipinos.

The recipients received varieties of assorted grocery items such as rice, noodles, canned goods, coffee, condiments, and food with long shelf life. Recipients are primarily employees of W Group which include people from our Plant Facilities in WHI Carmona, Philippine Bio-Industries, Marine Resources Development Corporation, and Cebu Carrageenan Corporation. Other recipients are people from Seaweed Buying Stations in Zamboanga.

Each community pantry is housed in the company’s open spaces to enable the strict observance of health protocols.
