The COVID-19 pandemic affects the global food industry as government-enforced lockdowns to slow the spread of the virus. The closure of restaurants caused a ripple effect on related industries such as food production. We, at W Hydrocolloids, recognize this immense challenge to the industry. There is no perfect plan that works for every industry, and no one knows with certainty when this pandemic will end.
Despite the challenges, 2020 first quarter sales of W Hydrocolloids rose to a new record high as clients continue to secure their essential requirements for their products from the company. Functional blends for meat applications are still our number one category, covering 50% of our total export. Western Europe came out as our top region as a client. We are very grateful to all of our partners for your continued patronage, and we look forward to strengthening our relationship for years to come.
